Cultivating Connection: Vintner’s Daughter Offsite at Slide Ranch
The Vintner’s Daughter team recently hosted a one-day retreat at Slide Ranch, combining team connection, hands-on learning, and impact reporting. Their day was filled with farm-to-table experiences, volunteer service, and time in nature—all while deepening their partnership with our nonprofit programs.
"Spending the day at Slide Ranch reminded us of the power of slowing down and connecting—with each other, with the land, and with our shared values. It was such a meaningful way to deepen our team bonds outside the office and continue building impact into everything we do." - April Gargiulo, Founder and CEO, Vintner’s Daughter
After the morning fog lifted and sunshine brightened the ranch, the team gathered in our Farm-to-Table Center. Guided by Executive Director Myla Marks, they harvested organic chard and kale from the garden and collected fresh eggs from our chickens to prepare a delicious quiche. They topped vibrant salads with native blue borage flowers, and created floral bouquets to adorn the tables. While the quiches in the oven, the group rolled up their sleeves for a garden service project—planting tomatoes with our ranch staff.
Over lunch, Vintner’s Daughter received a detailed update on the impact of their generous support. Their funding helps sustain the partnership between Slide Ranch and Girl’s Inc of Alameda County, which last fall hosted its second annual two-night environmental education program on our grounds. For many of the girls, it was their very first time camping under the stars! This unforgettable experience for the girls was possible through Vintner’s Daughter’s support.
"What made this retreat so special was the balance of joy and purpose. Harvesting fresh vegetables and flowers to share a meal, and hearing about the impact of our support on Girls Inc. gave us a real sense of connection to something bigger than ourselves." - April Gargiulo, Founder and CEO, Vintner’s Daughter
The afternoon continued with a coastal trail walk, exploring tidepools and soaking in sweeping ocean views, followed by time with our goats and sheep in the pasture. It was a joyful springtime day filled with food, laughter, and connection.
