CAMP INFORMATION

Everything you need to know for a great CAMP experience

Camp hours are 9:30am - 3pm (SINGLE DAY HOLIDAY CAMP HOURS are 9:30am - 2:30pm).

CITs are welcome to arrive 30 minutes early and stay 30 minutes later to help with prep and clean-up, but can also arrive and leave with regular camp hours.

SUMMER ONLY: Extended care is available 3-5pm. Please register ahead to ensure availability. If you know you will need a quick pick-up, please communicate that with us ahead of time so our Extended Care Instructors can plan accordingly. Please send an extra snack if your child is participating! Pick-up will be by the Barn. If you come before the end of extended care, come to our Office so we can radio the extended care group.

If you will be late for drop-off or your child will miss a day, please let us know. We can communicate where to meet your group if arriving late. If your camper is not coming, we appreciate knowing so we aren’t waiting to jump into the day!

We realize life happens! There is a 15 minute grace period for pick-up. If you are running later than this, you will be charged for after-care.

Camp Hours

  • Backpack - that can fit lunch, snack, refillable water bottle, and a jacket

  • Layered clothing that can get dirty:  We recommend long pants and jackets. It tends to be significantly cooler at our coastal location than in most surrounding areas, and sometimes foggy and windy, and kids will be entirely outside.

  • Extra underwear/pants/socks (especially important if they have had a bathroom accident in the past year; but also important since kids may get muddy or wet!)

  • Sturdy shoes: for hiking (no open-toed shoes)

  • Sunscreen and a sunhat

  • Reusable water bottle, zero/low waste lunch & snack (peanut/tree nut-free please)

  • Extra snacks if attending extended care (early or late)

  • An adventurous spirit, ready to accept the 5 Slide Ranch challenges: to get dirty, try something new, ask questions, make new friends, and have fun!

What to Pack

Enter Slide Ranch through the South Driveway (by our mailbox), and exit through the North Driveway.  Please drive slowly, be aware, and be patient…thanks!

Please park only in our visitor parking lot, located on the left as you come down our driveway. Spots are limited, please park close to other vehicles.

Please exit our visitor parking by turning left out of visitor parking and then taking an immediate right to our exit on Highway 1. Turn right to go towards Mill Valley, Left to go to Stinson Beach.

Parking

ALL campers must be signed IN and OUT each day! Please do not drop off your camper in the parking area.

CITs do not need a parent to sign them in or out.

Please bring your camper(s) and all of their camp gear (lunch, water, hat, sunscreen, extra change of clothes) to our check-in area by the cedars, or walk your camper directly to their group tree. You will sign-in and sign-out your camper with their instructor at their group tree every day except Friday afternoons.

On Day one you will also be asked to review the emergency contact/allergy information we have on record. PLEASE inform us of any changes.

If you need to add adults to your camper’s authorized pick-up list, you may do so at drop-off.

Pick-up is in the same location as drop-off Monday - Thursday. Please have your Photo ID Ready* to show your camper’s instructor. We will only release your child to adults on your authorized pick-up list. Additions to this list made after drop-off on any given day can be sent via email or text or by phone.

Our staff has been instructed to be vigilant in this process for child safety, so please be patient and kind with our staff. Later in the week, as our instructors get to know you, they may no longer require your ID. *If special circumstances prevent you from showing a Photo ID, please reach out to us to safely and confidentially discuss alternative options.

PLEASE NOTE: Your child will be excited to see you and tell you about their day. For safety, PLEASE REMEMBER to sign your child out every day!

Sign-In & Sign-Out

WEEKLONG CAMPS ONLY: Join us for Garden Party on the last day of camp! Parents/Guardians/Family Members are invited to come to the garden at 2pm where campers will close out the week by sharing highlights, skits, or songs from the week, enjoying garden creations, face painting, bubbles, and more. Slide Ranch merchandise, flowers, and/or produce will also be available for purchase on this day (produce and flowers dependent on availability).

If you are unable to attend Garden Party, please ensure your child is picked up by camp end at 3:00pm. REMEMBER to sign your camper(s) out prior to leaving the Garden Party!

Garden Party

Safety is our top priority! Please contact Slide Ranch immediately if your child or anyone else from your household tests positive or shows symptoms for Covid-19 OR any other communicable disease.

Do not send your child to camp if they feel ill, have a fever, or have flu-like symptoms. For the safety of our campers and staff, all children must be fever free for a minimum of 24 hours. We appreciate your help in keeping our camp safe!

Ticks are present in California, including at Slide Ranch. We help campers do routine “tick checks" but encourage you to thoroughly check your child at home. All campers will learn to identify and avoid poison oak, poison hemlock, and blackberry thorns.

Please review this tick fact sheet for more information and contact staff if you have any questions.

Slide Ranch is a peanut/tree nut-free camp environment. Please refrain from packing any lunch or snacks that contain peanuts/tree nuts. Thank you for your help in creating a safe environment for kids to learn about and celebrate food, including allergies and our varied needs.

Medications: All of our staff members are trained in CPR/AED/First Aid and will administer basic first aid as needed. We do not administer or provide any medication or ointments. You may pack these items for your child in their bags to be used by them as needed. Our staff members will be frequently reminding campers to reapply their sunscreen. Please contact us directly about any special circumstances regarding medication and your child’s needs.

Safety

Be green! Carpool to camp or sign up for our new Shuttle service!

If you note interest in carpooling upon registering, we will share a list of other families interested in doing so prior to the start of camp so you can arrange carpooling.

Camper Groups/Photos/Camp Shirts

You will receive your camper’s group assignment on Friday afternoon.

Most weeks campers will be tie-dying their camp t-shirts! Please look for their shirts in their backpack with instructions on care and washing. We would love all campers to wear their t-shirt on Friday!

Our Educators will be taking photos throughout the camp week. Look for an email at the end of the camp week with a link to a photo gallery.
