FALL 2016 PROGRAMS
Share the wonders of Slide Ranch’s coastal farmlands together
In our family programs, you and your family can milk a goat, collect eggs from chickens, and explore organic gardens and coastal trails. Come learn about native plants and tidepool ecology, make nature crafts, cook from the garden, and camp under the stars. Under the guidance of our experienced teachers, the possibilities are endless!

Friday Night Slide
$60 per/adult and $40 per/child, includes catered dinner
Come see what evenings are like at Slide Ranch. Enjoy a delicious catered dinner with us and then explore the nature trails and family-friendly events at our evening program.
Friday, September 16th, 5:00pm – 8:00pm: Owls
Become a night owl and join us for a special evening of entertainment. We will celebrate owls and other nocturnal friends here at our coastal farm. Help feed our goats and sheep, spot majestic Great Horned Owls, make wool crafts, print owl patches, and find hidden gems in our Fennel Forest Scavenger Hunt. Enjoy a catered dinner overlooking the ocean and finish the evening off with an Owl Trail night hike or songs at our Campfire Circle.
Friday, October 7th, 5:00pm – 8:00pm: Creatures of the Night
Come to Slide for an evening of fun and experience the farm as a creature of the night! We will be focusing on the animals that set the stage at night: the raccoons, owls, foxes, bob cats, and coyotes. Upon arrival, help feed our goats and sheep, put the chickens to bed, make a mask to wear of your favorite nocturnal creature, and embrace your inner animal in fun nature awareness games. Enjoy a catered dinner overlooking the ocean and finish the evening off with a guided night hike or howl at the moon with us at the Campfire Circle.
Fee: $60 per / adult; $40 per / child; children 35 months and under are free.
Please bring headlamps or flashlights.
A range of activities will cater for kids of all ages.
Adults can BYOB.

Family Farm Day $25 per/person
Family Farm Days are four-hour programs featuring a wide variety of activities related to the day's theme.
Give Thanks to Food Family Program SOLD OUT
Saturday, November 19 10am - 2pm
We celebrate food and where it comes from! This family farm day will take you on a journey through the full cycle of seed to meal, and exploring crops from the Slide Ranch garden and food traditions from around the world. Help us fire up the cob oven to bake bread and make butter from scratch. We'll also learn about the rich history of dairy farmers in Marin.
Fee: $25 per / person; children 35 months and under are free.
Toddler Days $25 per/person
Two special days to bring your toddler to Slide Ranch. The day's activities are gauged for their enjoyment but kids of all ages are welcome!
Halloween Toddler Day SOLD OUT
Saturday, October 29th 9am-12pm
The ranch will host special tricks and treats during our special Toddler Day edition of Slide Ranch’s Halloween Family Farm Day. Activities may include making costumes with recycled materials, face painting, taking a spooky tour of the Slide Ranch garden, investigating our worm compost, and cooking up some tasty treats in our outdoor kitchen. Toddlers will get a chance to practice trick or treating around the ranch. Costumes are welcome and encouraged!

A popular day at the farm for families with toddlers and babies! Enjoy milking a goat, holding a warm egg from a chicken, and listening to the baa of the sheep. There are many tastes, colors, and smells living in our organic garden, and we use all of our senses to explore the farm.
Activities are toddler appropriate, but all ages are welcome
on this very friendly day.
Fee: $25 per / person; children 23 months and under are free.
Family Campout $80 per/person

An educational, unique, fun and easy way to camp for the whole family!
A Slide Ranch campout is an educational, fun, and low-stress way to camp for the whole family! This special overnight program features food, nature, crafts and camping at our coastal farm. Help us celebrate the 2016 centennial of the National Park System and National Public Lands Day with a bunch of fun and important stewardship projects. We will explore both farm and coastal trails on the 134 acres of Slide Ranch that are part of the National Park System.
On Saturday, join Slide Ranch teachers for a day of farm activities, crafts and nature exploration. At night, gather for a family potluck dinner and a campfire under the stars. To celebrate Public Lands Day, Slide Ranch teachers will share campfire stories about the people, plants, and animals who have been a part of Slide Ranch history. Sunday morning, everyone has a chance to help with farm chores before sitting down to continental breakfast, provided by Slide Ranch and served in the cozy yurt. Following breakfast, activity options may include goat-milking, cooking, and ocean-themed crafts, before the weekend concludes with a farm-to-table tasting of the treats families have cooked from the garden and ranch.
Please Note: Participants must bring their own camping gear (tent, sleeping bags and pads) and a dish to share for Saturday night’s potluck dinner.
The campsite is rustic and a 1/3 mile walk from the parking area. Wheelbarrows are provided.
CANCELLATION & CHANGE POLICY
If you must cancel your registration you will be eligible for a full refund (minus a $20 processing fee) if the cancellation is made at least 2 weeks before the Program starting date. Cancellations received with less than 2 weeks' notice will not be eligible for any refund unless a replacement is available to take your spot. If a replacement is found, you will be eligible for a full refund minus a $20 processing fee. If you would like to reschedule your program, a $20 processing fee will be charged and changes will be accommodated only when there is space available.
