Spring Birds Family Farm Day

Learn about the many birds that live at Slide Ranch, from the majestic Great Horned Owls and delicate Hummingbirds to our free-range chickens and ducks. Through guided hikes and activities your family will enjoy this rich coastal ecosystem while learning about and interacting with our feathered friends. This program also includes milking the goats, meeting friendly farm animals, exploring our organic garden and more.
Sheep to Shawl Family Farm Day

Did you know that our clothing comes from animals and plants? Learn about the whole process of how wool eventually becomes a sweater! Watch a live sheep-shearing demonstration led by Blair from Hidden Villa Farm, and join local wool expert Christie and others from Spindles And Flyers Spinning Guild for wool crafts galore in the Slide Ranch yurt. Everyone will get a chance to spin wool and take home some soft memories of the day!
Ocean Exploration Family Farm Day
Saturday, April 21
Enjoy ocean-themed activities and a hike to the tide pools. The low tide reveals sea stars, anemones, and many other marine creatures to discover. Each family will receive a free copy of the book, “Exploring Low Tide in Northern California.”

A popular day at the farm for families with toddlers and babies!
Enjoy milking a goat, holding a warm, freshly-laid chicken egg, and hearing the baa of our sheep, as we use all of our senses to explore the farm during this family-friendly farm day.
Each Toddler Day is from 9:00am - 12:00pm.

Family Campouts

Our Family Campouts are an amazing, hassle-free way to camp for the whole family. This special overnight program features food, nature, crafts, and camping at our coastal farm.
On Saturday, join Slide Ranch teachers for a day of farm activities, crafts and nature exploration. At night, gather for a family potluck dinner, a cozy campfire and camping under the stars. Sunday morning, enjoy a continental breakfast in our yurt, then everyone has a chance to help with farm chores before preparing homemade treats harvested from our organic garden.
Campout begins at 10:00am on Saturday and ends by 1:00pm on Sunday.
Please Note: Participants must bring their own camping equipment (including tent and sleeping bags), a bagged lunch for Saturday and a dish to share for Saturday night’s potluck dinner.

CANCELLATION & CHANGE POLICY
You will be eligible for a full refund (minus a $20 processing fee) if your Family Program cancellation is made at least 4 weeks before the Program start date. Cancellations received with less than 4 weeks' notice WILL NOT be eligible for a refund unless a replacement is available to take your spot. If you would like to reschedule your program, a $20 processing fee will be charged and changes will be accommodated only when there is space available.
