Enjoy milking a goat, the crow of the rooster, and the baa of the lambs.  We use our senses to explore the farm.  Activities are toddler age appropriate, but all ages welcome.

Celebrate our beautiful coast by joining us for low tide at Slide Ranch’s exceptional tide pools. Discover sea stars, anemones, crabs and much more!  In addition to our ocean exploration, the possibilities are endless:  milk a goat, feel a sheep’s wool, feed and collect eggs from our chickens, sample from our organic garden, learn to make crafts and food just like the early farmers, and explore our miles of wild land trails!  

$25 per person pre-registered
$80 for families of 4. Age 2 and under Free.

Spring Fling

Spring Fling celebrates the season with live music, local organic cuisine, and farm and craft activities for everyone!  The event emphasizes local farms and food as part of this engaging hands-on event, complete with sheep shearing, goat milking, planting seeds and tasting of delicious local, organic foods. Attendees will enjoy interactive events designed to engage children including bread & cheese-making, spring crafts, nature hikes, carding and spinning wool, visits with the new baby goats and more. Slide Ranch welcomes kids and their families to immerse themselves in our spectacular coastal venue and fun educational activities in a natural setting. Parents will especially enjoy live bluegrass and acoustic jams as well as the breathtaking coastal views at Slide Ranch’s Muir Beach location.

Family Camp Out

May 23rd & 24th, 2009                                    
From 10am on Saturday to 1pm on Sunday  
             

Spend the night in our spectacular backyard and camp with an ocean view!  Join us for farm activities, crafts and nature exploration plus a campfire program under the stars.  We complete our experience together on Sunday by preparing a small farm tasting of homemade cheese, bread, butter and other treats harvested from our garden!  Bring a dish for Saturday night potluck dinner.  Sunday continental breakfast is provided.  Camp Out begins at 10:00 am on Saturday and wraps up by 1:00 pm on Sunday.   

$75 per person pre-registered
   Age 2 and under Free.

Family Programs are offered on most weekends throughout the spring and fall. Family Farm Days, Toddler Days, and Family Campouts and a variety of special-theme programs offer inspiring activities for all ages. Special themes include Sheep to Shawl, Ocean Exploration Day and Mothers Day. We also offer two special family events: Spring Fling and Harvest Celebration.

Pre-registration is required for all Family Programs. Payment is required to hold reservations. Once you have completed the online form, you must make payment in one of two ways:

  1. Call 415.381.6155 with credit card number and expiration date; if you leave a message, please dictate: name, address, email address, date of program you are requesting, credit card number and expiration date - we try to avoid phone tag as it may lead to missing reservations
  2. FAX name, address, email address, credit card number and expiration date to 415.381.5762

All payments should include the dates of the programs for which you want to register, number of adults, number of children, ages of children.

Your reservation will be confirmed by phone or email once we have verified availability and processed payment. Reservations are accepted on a first come (and paid) basis.  If the program you wanted is already sold out, you will be notified and put on the wait list.

 

SLIDE RANCH CELEBRATIONS

Our special family events include a Spring Fling in April and Harvest Celebration. Come enjoy live music, taste samples of local organic cuisine, and engage in farm craft activities such as creating a recipe book based on Slide Ranch foods made by kids (bread, cheese and Slide Ranch burritos).
