At Spring Fling, Slide Ranch will have a silent auction that includes an exquisite work of art in glass by renowned artist Dale Chihuly. To place an early bid (min. $3500) on this piece for the benefit of Slide Ranch, please email Charles Higgins: charles@slideranch.org:
As part of his Basket collection, inspired by Native American basketry, Dale Chihuly made this extraordinary piece. It is a delicate translucent gem that you will rarely find in galleries. Dale Chihuly is known all over the world for his innovative sculptures and installations, his use of vibrant colors, his experimentation with scale, and his integration of art into varied environments. Inspired by his mother's love of plants, and fascinated by the architecture of glasshouses, Chihuly has transplanted his monumental installations in recent years into gardens. The donor of this piece bought it at the 2006 New York Botanical Garden installation where they offered "Studio Edition Glass by Dale Chihuly - exquisitely colored, hand-blown pieces using the basic forms his art has revolved around for nearly forty years.” WHAT A MEMORABLE HOLIDAY GIFT! This item was donated by a generous collector to Slide Ranch, an environmental and sustainable agriculture education program on the Northern California Coast. Proceeds from the auction will help more than 6000 children experience the wonder of life and nature each year. If you want to discuss details, please call 415.381.8758 or email charles@slideranch.org. Item will be shipped from San Francisco, CA. Because of the delicate nature of this piece, we will need to arrange for special packaging, shipping and insurance. Buyer is responsible for arranging and paying for a service that meets his/her expectations Seller will release piece to shipper when payment is received and cleared.
