Volunteer/Jobs
Volunteering at Slide Ranch is a great way to support your own health and development while helping our non-profit environmental education center. The range of activities includes organic gardening, native plant restoration and ranch maintenance projects. This experience provides a chance to spend time with plants and soil while also learning about growing food by working alongside our Garden Manager and staff. Please consider us for individual community service hours, corporate team building events, and other group outings.
Many groups from local businesses and student service clubs enjoy getting away from their desks for a day on the land, volunteering at Slide Ranch. In the last few years, Circle K International, Fireman’s Fund, Whole Foods Market, Yahoo and Autodesk were among the many groups that helped us in our garden and with native plant plantings and invasive weed removal projects. The combined involvement of these groups added up to thousands of volunteer hours, which was an enormous help to Slide Ranch and the national park lands.
You can come for a one-time visit or include Slide Ranch volunteering as part of your regular schedule. We accept volunteers Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. We encourage volunteers for our annual Spring Fling and Harvest Celebration events. Please call our office with any questions or to schedule yourself or your group (ages 14 and up please).
We also have an active volunteer Board of Directors and are always looking for active community members to join our board and advisory groups or to simply help out with special events or projects. If you are interested in this kind of service, please contact us at: 415.381.6155.
