Slide Ranch has been planting kids in nature since 1970.

The real gifts worth giving are those that inspire a better world for our children

Check out the wonderful Slide Ranch full-page advert that ran in the San Francisco Chronicle on Dec 10! Thank you to Slide Ranch supporter, Shelley Lindgren, Sommelier/Owner of A16 and SPQR, for nominating us for the San Francisco Chronicle Gives program which donates free advertising space to local charities. Thank you also to Guru for donating their talent and time to create this advert. We hope it gives you a little more inspiration to give.

Your gift will be matched dollar for dollar up to $5,000 when you make a gift today to Slide Ranch and help plant kids in nature.

Your donation of just $5 or more will help give thousands of children and youth in the Bay Area a life-enhancing opportunity to connect with wildlife, healthy food and the outdoors through our hands-on educational programs and overnight field trips at our ranch. You donation will help provide essential teaching supplies, cooking utensils and even pay for youth from low income and underserved communities the chance to visit Slide Ranch next year.

Plus, from now through Dec 31, 2014 all donations will be matched dollar for dollar up to $5,000 by one of our generous annual donors.

Help us reach our $25,000 goal this giving season and put nature back in childhood - donate today.

Almost 200 supportive donors and sponsors enjoyed a night of gourmet food, top-flight wines, memorable entertainment, and record-breaking fundraising at our Silver Trowel Award Dinner on October 23, at the San Francisco Film Centre.

Heartfelt presentations helped set the evening’s tone and guests enjoyed music by Grammy Award Winner Billy Jean. This year’s Silver Trowel Award was given to General Superintendent of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, Frank Dean.

It was an incredible evening of vision and support. Thank you to everyone that contributed in any way.

Our Family Programs were a huge hit this fall!

Thank you to everyone who came to enjoy our Family Programs this fall.

Families with kids of all ages enjoyed hands-on activities that brought to life food cycles, the importance of caring for animals, and how we are all connected to nature. Our Toddler Days were particularly popular and many of our programs SOLD OUT.

We'll be opening registration for Spring Programs and Summer Camp early in 2015 so check back often.

A Bountiful Time at Harvest Celebration

Thank you to everyone that attended our Harvest Celebration on Saturday, October 11. It was a really fun and exciting day with lots of hands-on activities like spinning wool, making a mask, printing a patch, baking bread, planting garlic and more.

We learned about beekeeping from Planet Bee FoundationThe National Parks brought their Roving Ranger and we listened to bluegrass music while munching on Donna's Tamales.

It was a wonderful day for all the family! Make sure to look out for our Spring Fling and Shear to Shawl family events in spring - we'll be confirming dates early in the new year.

Read About One Mom's 28-year Slide Ranch Story

When Kin Davis was two years old, she moved with her family from Laos to the USA. Her family didn't have much money but when Kin was a child she visited Slide Ranch with her school as part of a subsidized trip funded by Slide Ranch donors. It left a lasting impression on her, and she credits her time here for helping her realize how much she loves nature. Earlier this year she returned to Slide Ranch with her family to enjoy a Family Campout

Asked why she wanted to bring her Family back to Slide Ranch, Kin replied: "I wanted to share with them Slide Ranch and I wanted that experience to pour on them all at once. I wanted them to experience the same joy and excitement that I experienced."
