Animals
Animals are a big part of everyday life at Slide Ranch. They help us understand many functions in farming.
- Goats provide us with fresh milk and cheese and they are great everyday companions. They help us maintain the land by eating invasive plants such as thistle and fennel.
- Sheep provide us with great wool every spring, which is used for carding and spinning into yarn with program participants at Slide Ranch.
- Chickens lay tasty eggs every day and roosters wake us up every morning.
- Ducks like to eat weeds and slugs and swim in the pond.
